The owners of Ciao Grazie Pizzeria & Wine Bar, Franco & Judy Dalu, are really extraordinarily welcoming people who are doing their best to strike a balance between the warm, friendly neighborhood eatery that every community needs and a restaurant that offers a little more sophisticated dining experience. The good news is that they seem to be succeeding.
As you might imagine, Ciao Grazie has all the Italian comfort food standards that you crave. Their menu includes of delectable pizzas and calzones, savory chicken parmesan, plump manicotti, the kind of mouthwatering lasagne that makes you want to tuck a napkin into your collar, and much more. House specialties are suitably exotic, including rustic Spiedini al Forno and a Wild Alaskan Salmon Filet that's to die for.
Actually, the attractions include much more than just good food. The restaurant also features a delightfully cozy wine bar with an extensive list of wines to choose from, including a delicious selection from authentic small Italian vintners. There’s also a dozen unique salads and paninis that help make Ciao Grazie destination dining for the lunchtime crowd.
Beyond that, there’s the lovely back-story about how Franco and Judy actually met that contributes a bit of romance to the atmosphere. Spoiler alert! It was in Scotland, while each was following their own quirky path to professional and personal enrichment. Franco's story began in Sardinia and took him through Switzerland, while Judy's story started out in the more familiar surroundings of New Jersey and New York. Don't be shy about asking them to share it – it’s all about Europe and food and wine and romance.
Today, Franco and Judy are happily running their dream business, and they are also doing what they can to give back to the community by recognizing achievement. One example of their efforts that local parents have come to appreciate is their free pizza giveaway to any child who brings a straight-A report card into the restaurant!
A meal at Ciao Grazie often inspires spontaneous exclamations in Italian, like “Buon Appetito!” and “Magnifico!” Stop in - Frank and Judy would love to show you a good time and a great meal!
